At the recent Cuero ISD Education Foundation board meeting, creativity took center stage as Cuero High School art teacher Heather Stewart shared the incredible achievements of her talented students—and the role the Foundation played in helping them succeed.
Mrs. Stewart presented a stunning collection of student artwork, including award-winning pieces from the Houston Livestock Show and additional works currently in progress. Three standout student artists, who earned prestigious awards for their submissions, attended the meeting to represent the thriving creativity and commitment within the CHS art program.
During her presentation, Mrs. Stewart expressed heartfelt gratitude for her "Refresh, Renew, Revitalize" grant, awarded by the Foundation. When she transitioned from Cuero Junior High to the High School campus, the grant provided critical art supplies that allowed her students to explore and elevate their skills. These materials not only sparked inspiration but were instrumental in helping her students create the remarkable pieces now receiving public acclaim.

“Without this grant, my students wouldn’t have had the supplies and materials necessary to create the incredible works that have brought them recognition,” Stewart shared. “It has also encouraged them to continue pursuing their talents, dreams, and goals.”
The Cuero ISD Education Foundation Grant Program is committed to enhancing educational opportunities across the district by funding innovative classroom projects. Mrs. Stewart’s success story highlights the lasting impact of this program—not only in equipping teachers with the tools they need, but in fueling the passion and potential of Cuero ISD students.
