Sean P. Douglas, CISD High School Career and Technical Education Teacher, will take the helm as the new ED

CUERO,TX – The Cuero ISD Education Foundation Board announced that Sean P. Douglas has been named the new Executive Director of the Cuero ISD Education Foundation.

Mr. Douglas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Education in Educational Technology from Texas State University and a Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University. In addition to Executive Director for the Foundation, Douglas currently teaches Robotics, Technology, Engineering, and Yearbook classes for Cuero ISD, where he uses his extensive knowledge and expertise to enhance the educational experience of students and teachers alike.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sean as our new Executive Director,” said Darwin Koenning, Cuero ISD Education Foundation Board President. “He brings experience, enthusiasm, innovative solutions and a fresh perspective to our organization. We look forward to the Foundation’s continued success with him at the helm.”

Douglas will assume the role on May 1 where he will oversee a wide range of administrative, public relations, strategic planning, and fund development functions in close collaboration with the Foundation’s Board of Directors. He will play a key role in raising public awareness of the Foundation and developing relationships with current and potential sponsors. Douglas will also coordinate and write grants and endowment requests to secure funding from both the corporate and public sector, while improving the internal grant process to better support CISD educators. As a direct link between the Cuero Independent School District, the CISD School Board and the Foundation, Douglas is committed to cultivating and maintaining a strong working relationship between all parties to achieve the Foundation’s core mission and objectives.

“Since moving to Cuero and working with the Foundation, I have been impressed with their fundraising efforts as well as their implementation of funds. The Board’s dedication to improving the educational experience of Cuero ISD students is exemplary. I feel honored to have been chosen to lead an organization with such an incredible reputation and look forward to further supporting CISD teachers and students in this new role,” said Douglas. In addition to voting on naming Douglas the new Executive Director, the CISDEF Board of Directors voted and welcomed one new member to the Executive Board of Directors. Jaclyn Brady will be replacing long-time VP of Marketing and Events Rebecca “Becky” Murray on the Executive Board. Murray voluntarily stepped down from the position of VP of Marketing and Events in December of 2022 after serving in that position for 20 years. She was recognized for her service during the 2022 Concert for Classrooms and she will continue serving as an active member on the Education Foundation Board of Directors.

“It has been a great joy serving on the CISDEF Board, helping to make students’ and teachers’ wishes come true, but it was time for me to step down into a less demanding role,” said Murray. “I am thrilled that Jaclyn has agreed to step in to take my place. She has already been an incredible asset to the Foundation behind the scenes over the years and I have no doubt that, in this more official capacity, she will continue to help us advance the Foundation’s mission,” said Murray.
